Kris Marshall, known for his role as Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman in the hit BBC One series Death in Paradise, is eager to see a reunion of the show's past and present lead detectives on screen. Kris, who played the part from 2014 to 2017, took over from Ben Miller's character Richard Poole and was later succeeded by Ardal O'Hanlon, Ralf Little, and most recently, Don Gilet.

Despite their shared history in the role, the actors don't keep in touch through a WhatsApp group, reports the Mirror. In an interview with Radio Times magazine, Kris expressed his desire for a reunion.

He said: "There's no WhatsApp group, but I would love some kind of reunion where all five of us meet up on-screen."

Kris as DI Goodman in Death in Paradise

Fans of the show will be thrilled to hear that Kris is set to reprise his role as DI Goodman in the third season of the spin-off series Beyond Paradise, which premieres on Friday, March 28. The new series follows DI Goodman as he navigates life in the fictional town of Shipton Abbott in Devon, where his fiancée Martha Lloyd, played by Sally Bretton, resides.

Kris's return to the role is sure to generate excitement among fans, who will be eagerly awaiting the possibility of a detective reunion in the future. Speaking of location filming, he said: "We exist in a world with so many unknowns, so to have a job where we get to film in a location like this... it's joyous. Plus, I'm a coastal person, so living down here for five months of the year is a delight."

Looking ahead to the new series, Kris revealed that viewers will gain greater insights into the private sphere of Humphrey and Martha while maintaining the character's idiosyncrasies. He said: "I started filming 'Death in Paradise' 11 years ago. I'm now in my early '50s. We retain an element of Humphrey's oddities - I never want to lose them - but I'm always thinking and firing off new ideas to Tony [Jordan, the series creator]."
