Meghan Markle has been savagely mocked by another celebrity about her hit Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, which, despite being panned by critics, has already been renewed for another season. The series secured a place in Netflix’s global Top 10 with 2.6 million views in its first week, and the second instalment is already scheduled for autumn 2025.

Aiming this time was US funnyman Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show. During Monday evening's episode (17 March) of the late-night show, Fallon and his sidekick Steve Higgins launched a scathing attack on Prince Harry's wife. During the 'Trivia Night’ segment, Higgins asked: “You're going to get this. What is the number one question that mystifies scientists? Number one question." Taking a moment to consider, Jimmy replied: “Is there life on another planet?” Higgins then made it clear he was wrong, drawing out the moment before he gave the ‘real’ answer.

He told Jimmy: "Why does Meghan Markle make her own pretzel bags? They don't know why." The quip caused the audience to fall about with laughter. The gag's reference came from With Love, Meghan, where the mum-of-two is seen transferring pre-packaged Trader Joe's pretzels into her plastic bag with a personalised label.

Chuckling, Jimmy said: "That's interesting. She takes it from one bag and puts it in another bag, and that confuses people." In the scene, Meghan carefully moves the store-bought pretzels into another bag adorned with a string bow. She then explains: "This, we're just going to put into a different bag." She then labels the bag, noting: "I know that Daniel loves peanut butter, but I'm going to label this anyway, you always want to be conscious if someone has a nut allergy."

Meghan was scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show twice in 2022, but both of those appearances were scrapped in the end. Her September 2022 interview was cancelled when Queen Elizabeth II passed away. Later that year, NBC mistakenly announced that she would feature on the show in December, before backtracking. However, Prince Harry did make an appearance on the show in September 2024. He was filmed screaming in a moment of panic while navigating a haunted maze with Fallon.

Several celebs have taken aim at Meghan Markle's Netflix show With Love, Meghan. Actress Justine Bateman recently criticised Meghan and Harry, accusing them of turning "being victims into an Olympic sport". While Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith has also expressed distaste towards the Duchess's latest endeavour, saying: "I'm not a Meghan Markle fan. There's more to life than how you look and how your friends think of you."
