QRCS to attend international conference on migrant workers

DOHA: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) will take part in the Red Cross and Red Crescent Conference on Labour Migration, to be held by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Bangkok, Thailand tomorrow.

This conference will be co-facilitated by IFRC Asia Pacific and IFRC Middle East and North Africa, in partnership with the Australian Red Cross, QRCS, and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The conference is a follow-up from the Doha Dialogue Initiative, hosted from 2014-2015 with events held across Qatar, Myanmar, and the Philippines.

QRCS is represented by a high-profile delegation, headed by Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General, Noura Rashid Al Dosari, Executive Director of Volunteering and Local Development, Dr. Fawzi Oussedik, Head of International Relations, and Dr. Sabrina Meddour, International Humanitarian Movement Senior Coordinator. 

The participation of Al Hammadi is a continuation of the approach of humanitarian diplomacy in the consolidation of humanitarian work and specially in this conference toward migrant workers cause.

And during the conference, Noora will give a presentation about healthcare assistance for migrants workers in Qatar, while Dr Fawzi will participate in the opening remarks of the conference.
